Sales Estimator, Security

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, owners and our subcontractors.
  • Review project documents and identify bid qualifications and questions
  • Prepare material takeoffs from project drawings, including specifications and addendums, and provide bid packages to all potential bidders.
  • Generate subcontractor bidder lists and interest in the project to ensure all scopes of work are covered on bid day.
  • Ensure proper bidder coverage and proper scope is included in the bidding phase.
  • Identify project opportunities and risks.
  • Prepare and participate in the preparation and presentation of cost/budget information.
  • Assist customers and potential customers with problems involving the use of company products and services and recommend suitable resolutions accordingly
  • Prepare accurate and thorough sales activity reports, forecast reports, and expense tracking
  • Participate in civic and professional organizations, and sales department meetings, workshops and seminars.  Continue to pursue in-depth product and service knowledge and acquire deeper selling, technical and financial skills.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience with the Security industry, components and applications of security equipment, and architecture of access control, video management and intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience with completing take-offs and reviewing drawings and specifications.
  • Candidate must possess strong decision making, problem solving, and negotiating skills.
  • Experience with MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports
  • Ability to communicate in English effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing.
